New Orleans Police Officers Stand Trail for Death of Hurricane Katrina Victims

Almost 6 years after Hurricane Katrina destroyed New Orleans and left the city in shambles, New Orleans Police Officers are set to stand trial for the death of unarmed African Americans that were killed in cold blood.

The five police officers involved in the killings have plead guilty, and will testify against fellow officers for “multiple counts of deprivation of civil rights, use of a weapon in a violent crime, or obstruction of justice.”

“Media Blitz” Key to the Arrest of James “Whitey” Bulger

The aggregation of social media, as a strategy, was used to find an FBI “Most Wanted” criminal. The Federal Investigation Bureau (FBI), launched a full on media campaign using Facebook, and TV ads that aided the capture of James “Whitey” Bulger.

Bulger made famous by Martin Scorsese’s film, The Departed, was apprehended by police, following a full on “media blitz,” in his apartment in Santa Monica, California — along with his long term girlfriend Catherine Greig. Continue reading
